Description
Ofada Rice is a Yoruba rice dish which can be categorized under wild rice because of its high
fiber content. It is the name of an indigenous rice from a small community called Ofada,
located in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. It is not exclusively grown
in the community, but it is an indigenous rice grown in southwest Nigeria and named after the
Ofada community. Ofada Rice is typically served with the Ofada Stew, a stew that of course
also originates from Western Nigeria and is commonly eaten with the locally grown Ofada rice.
Ofada stew is one of those delicious native savory dishes that packs a major punch as it is
flavored with assorted meats and fermented locust beans (Iru).
We serve our OFADA, with of course our designer OFADA stew and a side of fried plantain or/and beans.
